about dear friends
in 1995, my senior year of high school, I began writing 'theme songs' for my friends. this was partly in response to nobuo uematsu's soundtrack to (u.s.) final fantasy iii, which is also the reason for the title. having no deadline, I tinkered with the songs every once in a while until now, years later, where at this point, it's almost like I'm reworking the music of the however-many-years younger version of me.
having theme songs for my friends and even some of the relationships (such as the brothers' songs) was probably where the legend form idea came from.
